Alzheimer's 5K and Half Marathon - 14th Annual
This event takes place on Saturday, August 15, 2026 in Dubuque, Iowa, at Heritage Pond Campground. The race program includes a Half Marathon, a 5K Run/Walk, and a Kids 1/2 Mile Fun Run. Family registration is offered for groups of four to six and includes options for the 5K or the kids fun run. Special Ainsley's Angels group entries are available for the 5K in pairs or groups of three or more.
The course starts at Heritage Trail Pond on Highway 52. The 5K follows an out-and-back route that crosses the bridge and heads toward town; a water station is located at the one-mile marker of the 5K. The half marathon uses a five-mile out-and-back section heading west toward Durango and finishes on the 5K portion. There is a four hour time limit for the half marathon. No team relay is offered this year.
Packet pick-up is available before the race and on race morning; race morning registration carries an extra fee. Awards include trophies for overall 5K winners and top three men and women in the half marathon. Any division or overall 5K record earns a $10 gift card to Casey's. Medals are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in the listed age divisions for each race.
Proceeds benefit the Alzheimer's Association. If the event is cancelled, entry fees will go to the Alzheimer’s Association and registrants will receive shirts.
