Alzheimer's 5K and Half Marathon - 14th Annual
The event takes place at Heritage Pond and the Heritage Trail on Rupp Hollow Road in Dubuque, IA. Multiple race options run on trail and nearby roads, with courses described as out-and-back routes that use the bridge and head toward town. The 5K follows an out-and-back across the bridge. The half marathon follows a longer out-and-back that finishes on the 5K portion; a relay is referenced for the half marathon.
Course notes include water stations at mile 2, 3.6, 6.4, 8, 10, 11 and 12, with Gatorade and gel packs available. Construction on Highway 3 requires a detour for the half marathon using Clay Hill Road and Burtons Furnace Road to rejoin the Heritage Trail; the adjusted half marathon course has about 266 feet of elevation.

Early packet pick up is available Friday August 14 at the Heritage Pond drive up. Same-day packet pick up and registration are available for an additional fee. T-shirt availability is guaranteed for entries made by August 1; shirts are not guaranteed after that date.
Awards include trophies for overall winners and top finishers, medals for top three in listed age divisions, and a $10 gift card for any 5K divisional or overall record. Proceeds benefit the Alzheimer's Association. If the event is cancelled, entry fees will go to the Alzheimer's Association. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
