Alzheimer's 5K and Half Marathon - 14th Annual
The event takes place on August 15, 2026 at Heritage Pond and Heritage Trail on Rupp Hollow Road in Dubuque, IA. It includes multiple running options and benefits the Alzheimer's Association. Proceeds support the beneficiary and if the event is cancelled all entry fees will go to the Alzheimer's Association.

The 5K is an out-and-back course that crosses a bridge and heads toward town. The half marathon follows a 5 mile out-and-back segment heading west toward Durango and finishes on the same 5K portion. Due to construction on Highway 3 the half marathon will be detoured via Clay Hill Road to Burtons Furnace Road before returning to the heritage trail at Durango. The revised half marathon route has about 266 feet of elevation.
Early packet pick up is available at the Heritage Pond drive up on Friday, August 14 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Packet pick up and on-site registration are available race morning from 6:30 to 7:30 AM for an additional fee. Entries completed by August 1 are guaranteed a t-shirt; entries after that date may not receive a shirt.
Awards include a $10 gift card for any 5K division or overall record, trophies for overall 5K winners and for the top three men and women in the half marathon, and medals for the top three male and female finishers in the listed age divisions. Age divisions for the 5K are 15 & under, 16-23, 24-29, 30-35, 36-42, 43-49, 50-55, 56-62, 63-69, 70-74, 75 & over. Half marathon divisions are 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
