Walk/Run for Abilis

Walk/Run for Abilis takes place on October 11, 2026 at Greenwich Point Park (Tod's Point), Clambake Area. The event combines a timed 5K run and an accessible 1 mile walk with on-site family activities and vendors.

Event distances:

• 5K run: timed race on mostly paved, relatively flat paths
• 1 mile walk: accessible route suitable for wheelchairs and strollers

On-site features include a carnival with games, a balloon artist, face painting, music and dancing, and Abilis Gardens & Gifts selling handcrafted items made by program participants. Kids' activities are free. Registered runners pick up race packets at check-in; new runners may register on-site. Walkers may pick up shirts at check-in; walking itself is free for adults and children, and children under 11 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Run registration fees listed are $35 for ages 12 and up and $10 for ages 11 and under.

The 21st annual Walk/Run for Abilis raises funds to enhance Abilis day program services, supporting individualized attention, life skills and job training that supplement public funding. The 5K course is clearly marked with arrows and monitored by run staff; a route modification is available for participants using adaptive equipment.
