Walk/Run for Abilis
Walk/Run for Abilis is a community event held at Greenwich Point Park (Tod's Point), 1 Tod's Driftway, Old Greenwich, CT 06870, on Sunday, October 11, 2026. The event offers running and walking options and family-focused activities hosted in the Clambake Area of the park.
The event program includes:
- 5K Run
- 1 Mile Accessible Walk
The 5K is a timed race on mostly paved, relatively flat paths within the park. A route modification is available for runners using adaptive equipment so they can remain on paved roads. The 1 mile walk follows the scenic peninsula, is accessible to wheelchairs and strollers, and takes place on roads and concrete paths that are free of traffic. No pets, skateboards, or bikes are allowed along the routes.
Additional on-site offerings include a carnival-style area with games, a balloon artist, face painting, music and dancing, and sales from Abilis Gardens & Gifts featuring handcrafted items made by program participants. Kids' activities are free. Light snacks and coffee service will be available.
Registration fees for the run are stated as $35 for ages 12 and up and $10 for ages 11 and under; the walk is free for adults and children. Funds raised support enhancements to Abilis day programs that provide individualized choices, life skills, job training and community-based opportunities.
