About the race
The event program in Abercrombie, North Dakota, includes a community 5K Walk/Run and a short kids fun run. Both events use the area around Aber Park & Museum and the listed venue at 816 Broadway, Abercrombie, ND 58001, US.
The 5K follows a measured out-and-back course that crosses briefly into Minnesota and returns to North Dakota. The route passes through Abercrombie and Fort Abercrombie, crosses the Red River, goes through McCauleyville, then proceeds north over a creek to a turnaround and returns along the same route to the finish. The 5K is accurately measured and is USA Track & Field certified (USATF ND23009TRR). The 5K begins on the south edge of the Aber Park & Museum grounds.
Registration opens on July 12. The listed entry fee for the 5K is $25, with a higher fee for later or on-site registration ($30). Registrations after July 15 at midnight are not guaranteed a T-shirt; a limited number of extra T-shirts may be available on race day. The kids fun run is described as a free, approximately 1,000 foot course with 5K participants and onlookers present to cheer the children on.
