Abbeyknockmoy Hurling Club 5k, 10k and Half Marathon 2026
Organizers present the first edition of the Abbeyknockmoy 5k, 10k and Half Marathon road races on 12 July 2026 in Abbeyknockmoy, Co. Galway. The event includes the established 5k route used in the Galway 5k Race Series alongside new 10k and half marathon courses.
All races will feature chip timing and Athletics Ireland accreditation. Routes have been accurately measured and certified, and maps are provided for illustration; the permit has been approved, cert.no: 26/183. Prizes will be awarded across all distances. Participants will receive a medal and post-race refreshments on the day.
The event is presented as a midseason road race for runners tracking training progress ahead of autumn target races. Race maps are available for the half marathon, 10k and 5k, and the organizer notes that the maps are illustrative while the courses have been certified.
