9/11 Heroes Run - El Paso, Texas
The 9/11 Heroes Run is a community event held at Veterans Park in El Paso, Texas. This event serves to honor the individuals affected by the events of September 11, 2001, as well as those who have served in the military and as first responders. The gathering aims to unite the local community while recognizing active duty members, veterans, and the families of the fallen.
The event features several participation options:
- 5K Run: Available for individual community members, active duty military, and first responders.
- 5K Ruck: A division based on special forces training involving carrying weighted rucksacks.
- 1 Mile Run/Walk: A shorter distance option known as the SBPA William Anthony Sundermann 1-Mile.
The 5K Ruck division is held in partnership with GORUCK. Participants in these categories walk or run with weighted packs and receive an exclusive TMF GORUCK patch upon completion. The event is designed to be inclusive, welcoming individuals and families regardless of their current fitness levels.
Located at 5301 Salem Drive, the venue provides a space for community engagement and commemoration. In addition to the running and rucking events, there are opportunities for community members to participate as volunteers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
