5K Run/Walk for Lynne
The 5K run/walk takes place on July 18, 2026 at 131 Main Street Unionville, Markham, ON, Canada. The event is organized by Central United Church to raise awareness and funds for ALS research at Sunnybrook Hospital’s Brain Sciences Program, in honour of a longtime church member.
Fundraising is conducted through the Sunnybrook Foundation; the stated goal is CA$250,000 and CA$47,578.31 has been raised so far, representing 19 percent of the goal. Charitable tax receipts are issued automatically by Sunnybrook through the event platform for donations over CA$10.
Registration includes the option to create a personal fundraising page, with a suggested fundraising target of CA$1,000. Participants may donate as part of registration or sponsor a specific walker/runner. Race kit pickup is scheduled for July 16 and 17 at Running Room, 3987 Hwy 7 #5, Markham, with last-minute on-site pickup at Central United Church on event day.
