2026 5K Run for the Books : Buchanan, GA
The 14th annual 5K Run for the Books is a community road race held on April 25, 2026, as a fundraiser for the Buchanan-Haralson Public Library. The event begins and ends at the Haralson County Historic Courthouse, a landmark built in 1892, located at 145 Courthouse Square in Buchanan, GA 30113.
Each registration submitted by April 6 guarantees a custom T-shirt. Participants collect bib numbers, T-shirts, and course maps at sign-in. The race course includes two water stations, and snacks and drinks are provided at the finish area. A police escort is provided for the race.
Awards include top trophies for the fastest male and female finishers and prizes across 12 age groups. Because the event serves as a major fundraiser for the small library, the organizer does not offer refunds for inclement weather and intends to hold the event rain or shine. The race day coincides with the City of Buchanan’s Fair on the Square, which features vendors, food, and free entertainment.
