Community 5K fundraiser at RunStrong HQ
This event is a community 5K run/walk taking place on 07/16/2026 at RunStrong HQ, 1909 Spillway Road, Brandon, MS 39047. The format is informal and participants may run or walk the full distance of 5K (3.1 miles).
The beneficiary is a local resident who was diagnosed last year with liposarcoma of the right thigh. After surgery and multiple follow-up visits for infections and complications, radiation treatment was completed but recent scans show the cancer has metastasized to the lungs. Chemotherapy for the lung metastases is scheduled to begin in June. Funds raised will be used toward medical bills and basic necessities during ongoing treatment.
Entry to the event carries a $5 fee and all proceeds will go to the beneficiary. The event is described as no pressure; participants may turn around and head back at any point or attend only to offer support without walking the course.
