5K AIDS and Cancer Run/Walk
The event is a community run and walk held in Baldwin, New York, with in-person and virtual participation options. Distances offered include:
- 5K run/walk
- 1/4 mile toddlers run for ages 4 and under, free entry
Registration is not yet open; registration will open ahead of the listed event date. Event shirts are provided to participants, and names registered by a specified deadline are printed on the back of the shirt. Personalized bibs are available for participants who register three weeks in advance. Virtual participants may upload times and photos and track distance using a track, treadmill, or running apps; virtual bibs are mailed prior to the event.
Onsite amenities listed include coffee and a variety of food, finish line photos at no charge, live and emailed or texted results, raffles, and personalized bibs for early registrants. There is no registration charge for people living with HIV, people living with cancer, and Veterans for a limited number of registrants. Participants and volunteers receive gift certificates from local businesses.
Awards include trophies for the top three overall male and female finishers and for masters 40 plus, medals for age group winners across a wide range of divisions, and gift certificates for top finishers. Team awards include raffle prizes for team captains and donations to charitable organizations based on team fundraising totals.
