1000 Hills Challenge
The 1000 Hills Challenge is a trail running event at Nagle Dam in the Valley of 1000 Hills, KwaZulu-Natal, held on 12 July 2026. The event uses loop courses that pass through rolling hills, red cliffs, dense bushveld and African thornveld around the dam.
Long-course routes circumnavigate the dam, include riverine sections and river crossings. The short course passes through a tunnel and follows the lower half of the dam. Wildlife sightings reported along the routes include zebras, giraffes, impalas and Nguni cattle, and a variety of local birdlife.
