1 Mill Street Regency 10k
The Regency 10k is a volunteer organised road and off road running event in Royal Leamington Spa. Founded in 2004 and supported by local groups including Spa Striders and 41 Club, the event has attracted around 2,500 runners in recent years and has raised more than £500,000 for local good causes such as support for the homeless, community youth groups and school projects.
The race is a 10 km multi terrain course that passes through Newbold Comyn, Victoria Park and Jephson Gardens, with the start at Newbold Terrace East and the finish in Mill Gardens. The route uses a combination of paved surfaces and bridleways; road sections are closed to traffic. A professional timing company provides chip timing and each competitor’s timing chip is incorporated into the race bib.
Race packs are available for collection from 1 Mill Street co working space and from the finish area in Mill Gardens on race day. All finishers receive a medal and post race goodies. Baggage storage operates at the finish area using the numbered strip from the runner number. Temporary toilet cubicles are located near the start and medical staff including paramedics and nurses are present on course and at the finish area.
Event rules follow UK Athletics guidance. In ear and over ear headphones are not permitted while bone conduction headphones and declared medically prescribed in ear hearing aids are treated differently. Dogs are not permitted in the race except for registered medical assistance dogs with prior approval. Prizes are awarded for top finishers and for age categories, with trophies expected to be received in person. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
