Run Rome the Marathon 2027

Run Rome the Marathon is a major international sporting event held in the Italian capital. Scheduled for March 14, 2027, the event offers participants the opportunity to run through a route featuring historical monuments and iconic landmarks. The course starts at the Fori Imperiali, passes by the Colosseum, Piazza Venezia, the Vittoriano, and Circus Maximus. Runners also pass Castel Sant’Angelo and the Basilica of St. Peter.

The event features several participation options:

  • 42.195 km Marathon: The full distance covering the historic center of Rome.
  • 42.195 km Run4Rome Relay: A team-based race for four people with segments of 11 km, 12.5 km, 8 km, and 10.695 km.
  • 5 km Fun Run: A non-competitive event starting at the Fori Imperiali and finishing at Circus Maximus.

The Expo Village serves as the central hub for the event, located 50 meters from the Circo Massimo Metro B station. It is open for several days leading up to the race for visitors and participants. The marathon organizers provide training resources including training tables and collective "Get Ready" training sessions. The event has obtained ISO 20121 certification for sustainability, highlighting its commitment to environmental protection and social issues through its charity program.
