Event overview
The 2026 Waddling Warriors Adventure Race takes place on May 2, 2026 in Bagley, Wisconsin. The event is organized by Team LadyPenguins Fundraising and is headquartered at Wyalusing State Park, using the Hugh Harper Indoor Group Camp as race HQ. Two race durations are offered: a 13-hour format and a 5-hour format. Both formats combine multiple disciplines: trekking/running, canoeing, orienteering, biking (the 5-hour bike option may be optional), and team challenges. Teams of 2-4 racers must stay together for the event; solo entries are also permitted.
Distances
13-hour format distances:
- Bike: ~60k (35-40 miles), ~3,000'-3,200' elevation
- Trek/land navigation: ~18k (9-12 miles), ~800'-1,000' elevation
- Paddle: ~10k (6-7 miles)
5-hour format distances:
- Bike: ~15k (9-10 miles), ~800'-1,000' elevation
- Trek/land navigation: ~10k (~6-18 miles), ~400'-1,000' elevation
- Paddle: ~8k (5 miles)
Entry, rules and facilities
Canoes and required canoe gear are provided. The 13-hour entry fee includes one night of dorm-style lodging, souvenir apparel, maps, land use fees, insurance, and a post-race meal; the 5-hour entry includes maps, apparel, insurance, and a post-race meal. Solo entrants may incur an added fee. The event is USARA sanctioned; racers must purchase a single-day USARA license ($8) or hold an annual membership ($35). Navigation is by map and compass; GPS is not allowed.
The Hugh Harper Indoor Group Camp facility includes a lodge with commercial kitchen, dining area, recreation room, four dormitories (27 people each), showers, a sand volleyball court, softball field, amphitheater, and outdoor grill. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
