About the race
Steps to Empowerment 5K Run/Walk takes place in Plattsburgh, New York, at the US Oval. In its fifth year (formerly Dash for SAS), the event benefits the Sexual Assault Services Program, which provides counseling, a 24/7 hotline, and hospital/police/court accompaniments. The 5K course starts near the flag poles at the US Oval, runs along the Terry Gordon Bike Path, and finishes back at the Oval.
Expect a color-run atmosphere with color tables; wearing white and sunglasses is encouraged. Afterward, participants enjoy activities, snacks, a swag bag and a Steps to Empowerment t‑shirt.
