Route, guidance and practical information
The route uses sections of the North Downs Way, passes through Netley Heath forest and drops down to the village of Shere, including locations used in the films The Holiday and Bridget Jones Diary. The course mixes wider trails and single-track sections. The run is led by an experienced guide and is organised as a group run rather than a race. Participants should be able to maintain an average pace of about 10 min/mile (6 min/km) on trail for prolonged periods. A full kit list will be provided in advance. Silva head torches are available to trial and trail shoes are available to test; sizes should be stated during registration if interested. Night runs are conducted on headtorch light; sunset runs take place in lighter months. An alcohol-free beer may be offered at the end of the run, subject to availability.
