Event overview
The Set Your Year On Fire 5k takes place on Sunday, January 4, 2026 in Ligonier, PA (203 Boquet Street, behind Weller Field and Friendship Park). It is a benefit 5k with proceeds to the Ligonier Borough Volunteer Fire Company. The event offers the following distances/events:

- 5K Walk
Chip timing is used and bibs include timing chips. There is a firm t-shirt order deadline on December 7; shirts are a $10 add-on and must be picked up at the event. Registration pricing changes by date: early pricing, a higher fee after December 7, and a day-of registration fee. Day-of registration accepts cash or check only.
Course, logistics and rules
The course is mostly an out-and-back route that uses the Ligonier Valley Trail. The start is near Weller Field and Friendship Park, with a bridge approximately 0.25 miles from the start and the trail end about 1.62 miles from the start; the turnaround is marked by a large white historical sign. The finish is in the lower parking lot at the batting cages. The trail is described as mostly flat and straight; it will not be plowed, so snow, ice or slush may be present. A water stop is located near the trailhead and is passed twice on the route.
Age-group awards are given (top 3 male and female overall and top 3 in age groups for run and walk). Time limit for results and awards is 1 hour 5 minutes. Pets on course are allowed on leash with cleanup required. Headphones and strollers are permitted. No refunds or transfers are offered.
