Event overview

Peak to Creek takes place on Saturday, February 7, 2026 in Cookson, OK (34885 S Bluetop Rd). The event is a single continuous loop of 33 miles (50k) with a participant cap of 70. Entry fee listed at $100. The race is not chip timed because it is a single loop with a small field; finish times will still be recorded. Finishers who complete the course within the event cutoff receive a finisher belt buckle; buckle designs are animal-themed and there are 19 elk and 51 bear buckles available. Top three overall finishers receive awards; there are no gender-based awards. All participants receive a hoodie (80% cotton, 20% polyester). There are no race day signups.

Course and logistics

The course follows dirt, gravel, and four-wheel-drive access roads with about 4,500 feet of elevation gain. Sections can be leaf-covered and remote. Multiple water crossings are possible - creeks may be dry or deep depending on rainfall. Snow and ice are also possible. The route will be marked with directional signs and white-and-blue confidence flags, but participants are responsible for knowing the route. A GPX file and live-tracking recommendation are provided. Aid stations will offer hydration, calories, and basic first aid kits; blister kits are not provided. Drop bags are transported to aid stations at mile 12.3 and mile 20.3 with specific retrieval rules. Crew assistance is allowed only at the start/finish area and the 12.3 mile aid station. Trekking poles are allowed; pacers and muling are not permitted. Overnight camping in the refuge is not allowed and there are no parking fees.
