Event overview
Peak to Creek is scheduled for Saturday, February 7, 2026, in Cookson Hills Wildlife Management Area near Cookson, OK (34885 S Bluetop Rd). The event is limited to 70 participants and is listed as a 50k event that follows a single continuous 33-mile loop. Entry price shown is $100. There are no race day signups and no early starts. Finishers who complete the course within the event cutoff receive a finisher belt buckle; the organizer holds a supply of themed elk and bear buckles. Top three finishers receive awards; awards are not separated by gender.
Course and logistics
The route follows dirt, gravel, and four-wheel-drive access roads with about 4,500 feet of elevation gain. Course surfaces can include thick leaf cover, multiple water crossings, and possible snow or ice. The course will be marked with directional signs and confidence flags, but participants are responsible for knowing the route. Trekking poles are allowed; pacers and muling are not permitted. The event is not chip timed, though finish times will be recorded.
Aid stations provide hydration, calories, and first aid kits. Drop bags are transported to aid stations at mile 12.3 and mile 20.3 with specific placement rules. Crew assistance is limited to the start/finish area and the mile 12.3 aid station access point. Participants, crew, volunteers, and spectators must carry a valid Oklahoma hunting license, fishing license, or Wildlife Conservation Passport while on the grounds; children under 18 are exempt.
