Event overview

The North Downs Way Ultra Run is a guided trail event meeting at St Martha's Hill in Guildford, Surrey. The route covers 30 miles and highlights sections of the North Downs Way, including Denbies Wine Estate and the top of Box Hill. The event runs on trails through the Surrey Hills and passes through small villages and viewpoint areas before returning to Newland's Corner and St Martha's church. The listed cost is £45 per person.

Format, requirements and logistics

The run is led by an experienced ultra runner and coach and is organised as a group run rather than a race. Participants are advised to have run at least 22 miles in training and to be able to maintain an average trail pace of about 10 min/mile | 6 min/km for prolonged periods. A full kit list will be provided to participants. A car park is available at the meeting point and the location is a short run or taxi ride from a train station. An alcohol-free beer from a partner brewery may be offered at the end of the run, subject to availability. Two dates are shown for 2026.
