About the race
Larch Madness Trail Races take place at the Loup Loup Ski Bowl near Twisp, Washington. The event offers four distances: 5K (1,300 ft gain), 15K (5,200 ft), 25K (9,100 ft), and 50K (18,200 ft), all with 18-hour cutoffs. Courses blend alpine trails with rugged off-trail sections, and longer distances follow Blue, Yellow, and Pink loops in specific orders for a true mountain challenge.
The atmosphere is both brutal and scenic, especially amid fall larches. Facilities include aid stations, drop bags, dispersed camping at the start/finish on Friday and Saturday nights, a post-race party, and proceeds benefiting the Loup Loup Ski Education Foundation.
